I don’t believe this! people practicing such dangerous rituals even in this modern age! even if there is a cloth to cushion the fall, under no circumstances should babies be put through this bizarre act....

Babies can suffer from a fatal heart attack when thrown from such a height and even if they manage to survive, it can still result into disorders related to the heart when they grow up. This is something absolutely fatal for them either ways and such things should be put to an absolute stop by the concerned authorities for they account to an offence against humanity.

It is difficult to fight superstition by framing laws. What we need is sensitizing the people about the dangers of such rituals. Illiteracy is largely responsible for such dangerous acts.

It is really shocking! I really don't what kind of interpretation these people have given to Holy Quran and Hadith but I can say for sure that they are not following Islam; at least by doing such acts they have detached themselves from Islam which preaches Science and reason.
I hope that Muslims of India who are well versed with religious scriptures help these superstitious people.
